The Cottage

The house

The Cottage is the one you'd miss if you weren't looking for it. It sits off to the left of Luxe with its own front door, its own parking, and a porch that turns its back on the main house entirely. Two houses on one lot, and neither of them seems to know about the other.

Inside, the ceiling opens into a white vaulted peak with a single beam across it — taller than a cottage has any business being. Slipcovered sofas you sink into rather than sit on, a pair of soft floral wingbacks that look rescued from somewhere older, and a fireplace set into shiplap. It's small the way a storybook cottage is small: every corner doing something, nothing wasted.

It sleeps four — a king bedroom, and a bunk room with two XXL bunks that children will argue over and adults will quietly wish they'd claimed first. Each bunk has its own light switch, its own shelf, and its own plug for a phone, so nobody has to climb down in the dark to charge anything.

Take it on its own and it's the easiest thing we rent: right for a couple, or one family who doesn't need four bedrooms. Take it alongside Luxe and you have fourteen people across two houses, everyone still able to close their own front door behind them.
